In the heart of Madhya Pradesh, this boutique store is located right opposite the Western group of Khajuraho Temples. Attracting both national and international tourists, this store sells a variety of merchandise like traditional fabrics such as Chanderi and Maheshwari silks, furnishings, jewelry, and bell metal. 
The Challenge:
A complete revamp of Indian traditional handicrafts
store by renovating an existing bungalow.
The Outcome:
Three distinct design approaches for the new boutique
 store to create a holistic shopping experience.
Oasis - Zoning
CONCEPT 1:
Oasis

In a distant faraway land.. the boutique is calm, still, a distant mirage.
Here the products are rare, precious, and curated. Customers view them through layers of sheers, glass boxes, and on pedestals. A shopping experience that lets the customer unwind while they shop.

Kanaka Goddess' Adobe


This boutique is the goddess adobe, the wardrobe of the divine is our merchandise. As the customer walks through the boutique they enter a mystical world that reflects the essence of Khajuraho with imagery of the scorpion bearer and date palm trees.

Utsav! Inspired by the MP tourism advertisements developed by Ogilvy & Mather India, this theme celebrates love, life, and abundance. Bringing in a homely feeling with a lemon tree in the backyard and wooden textures in the interiors.
